Charles Delevingne Led Harvey White and Served on Wynnstay Board

Charles Delevingne

Charles Delevingne is a British property businessman whose documented career extends from estate agency to private commercial property investment and public-company board service. He is closely associated with Harvey White Properties, where he has held leadership responsibilities for decades, and served as a Wynnstay Properties director for more than 20 years.

Although he is also known as the father of Cara and Poppy Delevingne, official records provide a clearer account of his professional work than many general profiles. Companies House filings, corporate announcements and his limited public comments reveal a long property career, continuing company responsibilities and a small number of personal priorities expressed in his own words.

Building a Career Through Estate Agencies

Official records identify Charles Hamar Delevingne as British and resident in England. Companies House gives his birth month and year as June 1949. A genealogical reference citing Burke’s Peerage supplies the more precise date of 25 June, but the public company register confirms only the month and year.

His professional background developed within the property sector. When Wynnstay Properties announced his board appointment in 2002, the company said he had spent his working life in property. His early experience involved several established estate agencies before he moved towards building a substantial private property operation.

Fairway Capital’s professional profile adds that he had worked as a partner with prominent estate agencies. These accounts place his transition into private property investment around the early 1980s. By the time he joined Wynnstay, he already had roughly two decades of experience developing and managing property interests.

The available records provide a clear outline of his move from estate agency into private property investment.

Long-Term Leadership at Harvey White

Harvey White Properties became the central company in Delevingne’s professional record. Companies House lists him as both a director and company secretary, with the available appointment information showing that he had entered those positions before 31 December 1990.

The company remains active and is registered for buying and selling its own property, as well as letting and operating owned or leased real estate. These activities support the established description of Harvey White as a private property investment business rather than an estate agency serving ordinary residential buyers and sellers.

His involvement has continued across several decades. Corporate records also connect members of the Delevingne family with the company, while Charles has retained his director and secretary positions. His daughters have their own business activities, and he holds directorships in companies connected with Cara and Poppy.

The duration of his Harvey White appointments provides a clear measure of his professional continuity within the company.

Understanding Harvey White’s Corporate Timeline

One part of Harvey White’s history requires careful distinction. Fairway Capital’s profile says Delevingne founded Harvey White Properties Limited in 1981. Companies House, however, records the existing legal company as having been incorporated on 30 October 1963.

The available records do not explain how the 1963 incorporation date relates to the account that places the start of Delevingne’s involvement in 1981.

What can be established is that he built or led the business from the early 1980s and was formally recorded as a director and secretary by the end of 1990. Describing him as Harvey White’s long-term leader is therefore more accurate than claiming without qualification that he incorporated the legal company in 1981.

More Than 20 Years on the Wynnstay Board

Delevingne joined the board of Wynnstay Properties on 18 June 2002. The company’s announcement described him as an experienced property figure who had begun with recognised estate agencies before spending approximately 20 years developing a substantial private property company.

Wynnstay was involved in property ownership, development and management. Its decision to appoint him gave the board access to experience gained in both agency work and private investment. His official Companies House record confirms the same appointment date.

He remained a director until 25 March 2023, completing more than two decades on the board. When Wynnstay announced his retirement, its chairman thanked him for the judgement and guidance he had contributed during significant changes to the company’s portfolio. The statement connected his service with the company’s efforts to reshape its property holdings and deliver results for shareholders.

The retirement was a defined professional transition rather than a withdrawal from business altogether. His Wynnstay responsibilities ended, but other directorships and advisory work continued. Profiles that still list him as a current Wynnstay director are therefore outdated.

Current Directorships and Advisory Work

Companies House records reviewed in August 2026 continued to show several active appointments. Delevingne remained a director and secretary of Harvey White Properties and a director of Deephouse Limited. He was also listed as a director of Deephouse Properties Limited, a position he had held since 2 July 2012.

His family-connected company responsibilities include Cara & Co. Limited, where he became a director on 28 January 2013, and Poppy Delevingne Limited. He joined the latter company’s board on 20 September 2023, several months after retiring from Wynnstay.

Recent filings indicate that these positions remain current. Poppy Delevingne Limited submitted a change to his director details in February 2026 and filed a confirmation statement in June 2026 without further updates. The filing summary does not describe the substance of the details change, but the register continued to identify him as an active director.

Harvey White’s control structure changed in 2025. A Companies House filing recorded that Charles ceased to be listed personally as a person with significant control on 1 April. Deephouse Limited was then registered as the controlling entity. The change did not end his management roles: he remained a director and secretary of Harvey White.

Alongside these company appointments, Fairway Capital’s website listed him as a Fund Advisory Board Member when reviewed in August 2026. The profile is undated, so it does not reveal when he joined or how frequently he participates. It nevertheless provides current organisational confirmation of an advisory association following his Wynnstay retirement.

Family Connections and Property Decisions

Charles married Pandora Anne Stevens in 1983. They have three daughters, Chloe, Poppy and Cara, and he also has an older son, Alexander Jaffe. Reputable accounts disagree over whether Alexander was born during a previous marriage or another relationship, so the established fact is simply that he is Charles’s older son and the daughters’ paternal half-brother.

Property has also formed part of the family’s public background. Mansion Global reported that Charles acquired a house in Belgravia in 2000, after the death of its previous owner. Chloe, Poppy and Cara spent part of their formative years there before the property passed to a company owner in 2015.

His own comments about a separate South Kensington development supplied a more direct view of one property decision. In 2016, he said the project was planned as his home and office rather than a speculative development. He described wanting a substantial family room and spoke about looking forward to seeing his grandchildren grow up there.

Those remarks relate to the intended use of that particular building, rather than proving a broader personality description. They do, however, establish that family considerations were part of his stated plans for the project.

Delevingne has also explained how travel connected with one family decision. In a 2021 interview, he recalled making frequent journeys to Dublin and noticing that the Aer Lingus in-flight magazine was named Cara. He liked the name and suggested that the publication influenced the choice for his youngest daughter, without claiming that it was necessarily the only inspiration.

Reflections on Anglo-Irish Family History

Charles is the son of Edward Dudley Delevingne and Angela Margo Hamar Greenwood. His maternal grandfather was Hamar Greenwood, 1st Viscount Greenwood, who served as the final Chief Secretary for Ireland. This connection brought him to an event in London marking the centenary of the Anglo-Irish Treaty in October 2021.

Speaking at the gathering, Delevingne acknowledged the difficult part of his grandfather’s record. He recognised Greenwood’s unpopularity in Ireland and acknowledged that the association with the Black and Tans was not something anyone could view with pride.

He also recalled that his mother had described her father as personally kind and suggested that Greenwood had faced a difficult political situation. These were the reflections of a descendant discussing family memory, not an attempt to provide a complete historical assessment.

Delevingne said he had attended the centenary gathering to celebrate 100 years of Anglo-Irish friendship and expressed the hope that the relationship would continue. It was a clear public statement at a commemorative event, although there is no verified evidence that he leads a wider political or advocacy campaign.

A Long-Standing Role in British Property

Formal company records place Harvey White at the centre of Delevingne’s business work and document the end of his long Wynnstay tenure in 2023. His continuing directorships and Fairway Capital listing indicate that he remained professionally active after leaving that board.
